The Origins of Kevin Ethan Levin
Now the next member of Ben’s team is an Osmosian who first appeared in the original series and at first he quickly became one of Ben’s most notable enemies until he was reformed into a good guy during the series of Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10 Ultimate Alien.
He did became one of the main characters until his departure, along with Gwen in the Ben 10 Omniverse episode The More Things Change: Part 1. This guy’s name is Kevin Ethan Eleven who as we all know now as Gwen’s new boyfriend.
Description and First Mutation: When Kevin appeared in the original series as an 11 year old he is described as a thin and scrawny boy with shoulder-length black colored hair, pale colored skin and dark brown colored eyes along with black-discolored marks around them (which is a sign that he has recently absorbed energy since we know that he is an Osmosian). He wore a torn black colored t-shirt, black studded arm bands, brown colored cargo pants with black colored knee-length shoes, and a padlock necklace which is a spoil from his first crime which was stealing a bike and using it to run away to New York which at the time was where he and Ben first met. After absorbing the feedback from the Omnitrix, Kevin was able to transform into exact copies of all of the unlocked aliens, missing an Omnitrix symbol (which he used them to frame Ben until Ben proved his innocence to Steel). Kevin did explain to Ben that when he turns into his aliens he could only do that by concentrating hard although the only problem for him was that he could only stay as a person for a short time. After the energy overwhelmed Kevin, he concentrated to hard mutated into Kevin 11. This is because Kevin was very mad at Ben when he said to him “You’re not worth it, you never where.” and that made Kevin upset. This mutated form that Kevin transformed into during the episode Framed, is a random mixture of body parts that are from the 10 said aliens that Ben transforms into when he was 10-11 years old which completely destroyed Kevin’s clothes during the process of his transformation, except for his brown colored cargo pants though.
Ben 10 Alien Force Description: When Kevin appeared in Ben 10 Alien Force, his appearance shows that he has grown into a tall and muscular-looking young man, his eyes lack the black marks (as his body was fully recovered from being stuck in the Null Void and had stopped absorbing energy), and his normal attire is know a tight black colored T-shirt over a grey colored long sleeve shirt, blue pants, and black combat shoes. His black colored hair, although it’s still long, is now styled into a choppy mullet. Occasionally, he is shown to have been seen wearing a short sleeved light blue oil stained mechanic’s jacket over a white muscular shirt, blue pants, and his black combat shoes.
Second Mutation Description: After Kevin went through a second mutation because of the feedback from the Omnitrix in the episode and energy from a machine that he made during the episode The Vengeance of Vilgax, the feedback pulse that he was subjected to from the Omnitrix after he and Ben tried to tamper with it, the transformation had completely destroys his clothes, except for his briefs (which I think is kind of embarrassing for him) and because of this, Kevin was unable to revert back to his normal form. This second mutation that he became is shown that he had become a living colossus that is composed of different matters, which are Stone, Wood, Taydenite, and Metal. But he learned to use his powers in various new ways. But the thing is that as a result of all this mutation, it is shown that throughout the season of Ben 10 Alien Force, Kevin has shown that he hates what he had become, which led to the extent of breaking things off with Gwen (much to her dismay), and wearing an I.D. Mask in public so that he can appear as a human, and not have anyone seeing him to consider himself as a monster. This second mutation that he transformed into looked like a mixture of some of the solid materials that he absorbed which are During Kevin’s time in the series of Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, he went through a third mutation that made him into a power hungry monster known as Ultimate Kevin. The appearance of the third mutated form is again an unbalanced mixture of various aliens (which are the alien’s that Ben has unlocked plus the ultimate forms included as well) that were currently accessible to Ben through his Ultimatrix.
Omniverse Description: In Ben 10: Omniverse, when Kevin appeared again in this new series his appearance shows that he was wearing the exact same black colored shirt but the sleeves and collar are roughly cut, the sleeves on his long sleeved grey colored shirt are slightly torn and he wears blue colored holsters pants. His black colored hair is longer and straighter than it was before and his pants have a small tear below the left knee. He also wears a padlock necklace around his neck which is very much similar to the one that he wore when around his neck when he was 11 years old but now marked with the number “11” on it. He also sports some black discolored marks around his eyes, which makes him appear tired; these marks very much bear a similarity to when he was 11 and was still absorbing energy. Later on during the series, it seems that Kevin has appeared to grow a few chin whiskers and his grey shirt has also appeared to gain some stripes. Also in the episode Weapon XI: Part 2, Kevin got a cross-shaped scar to his chin during his fight with Ben as Swampfire when he was mutated for the fifth time. This cross-shaped scar appears to be a similar scars that future Kevin had and it with another future Kevin of an alternate reality.
Personality: The history about the personality of Kevin is that when he was 11 years old he was at first a criminally insane sociopath, who was willing to hurt or kill anyone for his own personal gain and/or pleasure (that was the history of his personality way before he changed when he grew up and became a good guy). This behavior and mentality stems that he has is not only from being seen and treated as a freak by his peers and his family, but also because of the side effect of him when he is absorbing energy. This selfishness and sociopathic-nature of this is made apparent when he was once willing to derail a money train to steal the money and kill countless passengers on another train. Kevin has appeared to had an extremely negative outlook on life because of the countless hardships and struggles he had with his family, feeling insecure about himself as well as having an incredibly low self-esteem which is why he and Ben were once enemies before they became friends when they got older. After Ben defeated him, Kevin was then sent to the Null Void and put in a prison cell but was then released from prison after Kwarrel, a fellow prisoner in the Null Void changed his outlook and helped him learn how to control his anger. When Kevin got out of the Null Void he first started out as alien weapons dealer, which was giving him several contacts with criminals such as Argit, Vulkanus (Six Six’s partner), and Sunder (who was after Ben’s Omnitrix and the New Omnitrix) as well as a considerable knowledge in what the different kinds of alien tech are. Also from a shocking discovery it revealed that Kevin’s real father was a plumber because when he is little, his mother told Kevin stories about what his father did. The way Kevin left his mom was because of his powers his stepfather caused a huge strain between Kevin and his mother, ultimately making Kevin think they hated him, which explains why he left them and spent his time by himself when he met Ben in New York. After Kevin, was along with Gwen and Ben became official Plumbers, after he went to tell his mom about his membership. Even though Kevin loves Gwen and has had a good relationship sometimes he is always cares about keeping his new car he just got form being wreaked and he also learned that his dad was murdered by an alien named Ragnarok, and became bent on vengeance, so much that after he, Ben, and Gwen defeated him Kevin eventually left Ragnarok to his death when he had the chance to save him. But after what Kevin has been through he gets to be a good and likes helping Ben out with saving people for a good cause.
Kevin’s History: Some of Kevin’s history in his background reveals that he was born to an unknown father and a mother Mrs. Levin, but sometime after his real father’s death a man who is named Harvey Hackett fell in love with Kevin’s mother, married her, and became Kevin’s stepfather. According to Harvey Kevin was only 4 years old at the time when this happened. When Harvey tried his best to raise Kevin and be a good father to him, it turned out that Kevin wasn’t fond of Hervey at all, especially when he saw him as a replacement for his real father as well as an obstacle for Mrs. Levin’s love. The second reason that Kevin dislikes Harvey is because he was afraid of his Osmosian powers, which had now only worsened their relationship. When Kevin turned 11 years old, he managed to absorb energy, which accidently demolished the house, according to Harvey. This, coupled with the mental instability from absorbing the energy and his dislike of Harvey, instilled in him the delusion that Harvey convinced Mrs. Levin that they should kick him out in the street (Harvey admitted that he ran Kevin out of the ‘house’ just because he destroyed it when using he powers). When Kevin was kicked out he then stole a bike, wearing the padlock around his neck like a necklace, ran away from Bellwood to New York City, where he made his home in an abandoned subway and where he and Ben first met. When Ben and Kevin first met in a video arcade in the original series, when, after Ben befriended him, Kevin was being assaulted by some bullies (because he trashed their hangout under the 39th street bridge) but was then saved by Ben as XLR8. After doing that Kevin decided to show Ben his hangout and also break into a warehouse so that Ben could have a new Sumo Slammers video game that was revealed to not be out in stores until Christmas. When the two boys tried to steal the game they where caught by the police to whom Ben was forced show Kevin his secret about the Omnitrix in order for both of them to escape. After that Kevin and Ben decided to form a partnership where they user their powers for personal gain, however that all went south when Kevin rigged the subway track to have two trains (one with money and one with innocent people) crash into each other. Ben soon grew angry with this because this was not something a hero would do so he tried to turn into Four Arms to stop Kevin and switch the track back, but the Omnitrix turned him into Heatblast instead. When Ben tried to stop Kevin, he even out the odds by absorbing Heatblasts DNA turning him into a complete version of Heatblast, but Ben did still managed to foil his plans by switching the track back and hitching a ride to escape Kevin. When Kevin saw that his plan was foiled he decided to forget to the money and get some priceless revenge on the bullies that tormented him. When Ben showed up at the 39th street bridge to stop Kevin from hurting the bullies Kevin then tricked Ben to come closer to him so that he could absorb Four Arms’s power after the Heatblast power disappeared, reverting him back to his normal form. As Kevin and Four Arms battle in a big muscle fight Four Arms wins and reverts back to Ben. Ben gives Kevin an offer that he can have a new home and uses his powers for good instead of evil and people will start to like him. Kevin did agree but it turned to be just one his tricks because he wanted Ben to get close so that could take the Omnitrix but as he did a massive energy feedback erupts and changes Kevin back and removes all of the alien powers he absorbed. At the end to the episode after Kevin escaped it turns out the feedback didn’t drain his powers, he just absorbed it all. When Kevin appeared again in season 2 of the original series serving as the main antagonist it shows that amount of energy that he absorbed from the Omnitrix the ability to regulate this power that he has is poorer than that of the Omnitrix itself because the energy suppresses his real form and forces him to remain as an alien most of the time. As revealed in the episode Framed, Kevin blamed Ben for turning him into this (but it’s not really Ben’s fault though it was Kevin’s), so he used the powers of the Omnitrix aliens to start an inter-state crime spree in America. Doing this for both for his own benefit and to damage Ben’s (or rather, his alien forms’) reputation. Eventually, when Kevin and Ben were fighting each other on the Golden gate Bridge Kevin’s ability to regulate the power failed altogether, causing him to mutate into what Vilgax (Ben’s biggest enemy) describes him as a “misshapen, chaotic amalgam of creatures… from the Omnitrix”, which Kevin then called himself Kevin 11 (because he now has all of Ben’s powers plus his own). Because of this, Kevin 11 fights Four Arms and as he was about to destroy him, Lt. Steel leader of the Special Alien Capture Team (S. A. C. T.) ordered his men to shoot the lazar gun blasting him into the water, defeating him; however, at the end of the episode, Kevin was revealed to be alive because of Four Arms’s durable skin. In the episode Grudge Match, Kevin appeared again to attack Ben because he still blames Ben for his condition and also gloating that in this form he was still ten times better than Ben just because he has all of Ben’s alien powers plus his own and naming himself Kevin 11. The only known powers that Kevin was using are Four Arms’ strength, Ripjaws’s underwater breathing and steel-bending jaws, Upgrade’s stretching, Stinkfly’s flight and slime spit, Diamondhead’s crystal projections, shape-shifting arm and immense durability, Heatblast’s pyrokinesis, Wildmutt’s sense of smell, and XLR8’s speed as well as his Osmosian powers too. But despite this, Ben as Diamondhead observed that each one of Kevin 11’s powers weren’t as strong as their pure forms, because the powers are only exactly 1/10th as powerful as his powers according to his observation. While Ben and Kevin were battling each other they were abducted and forced to fight in Slix Vigma’s gladiator games. During their battle with a raiming alien gladiator champion Technorg, Ben managed to help Kevin realize the advantages in his mutant from by using his powers in combinations in order for them to make up for not being at full power. The first combination Ben has Kevin do was mixing Stinkfly’s goo with Heatblast fireballs. The second combination was XLR8 speed + Four Arms strength + Diamondhead invulnerability = “one mean punch”. After their battle with Technorg, Ben and Kevin 11 along with Technorg and the other alien prisoners worked out a plan and succeeded in escaping to the escape pods to get back to their home worlds before Slix’s ship was about to travel to a new galaxy. When after the prisoners where able to escape to their home planets Kevin 11 attacked Ben and trapped him against the wall with Stinkfly’s goo before moving in with Diamondhead’s spear hand, gloating that no matter what alien Ben transformed into, he knew every one of them inside and out. But little did he know that Ben unlocked a new alien transformation that he called Cannonbolt, whom he transformed into just as Kevin 11 was about to murder him before getting into an escape pod and going back to earth. Kevin 11 nearly barged into the pod to get Ben but Technorg, whom Ben had spared his life and he declared a life debt to, stopped him. After Technorg helped Ben as Cannonbolt escape, he turned his attention to Kevin (who had called him a lap dog just as he was about to destroy Ben). The two were then transported to a new different galaxy at the end of the episode while they were locked in combat. Technorg appeared to have defeated Kevin 11 and left the ship to return to his home world as well while Kevin 11 took the ship as his own and when crusing around the galaxy looking for aliens to challenge (according to the enhanced edition of the episode). When Kevin 11 returned again in the episode Back With a Vengeance, where he found Vilgax and teamed up with him to defeat Ben, he was able to eventually manage to remove the Omnitrix from Ben’s wrist with a machine that Vilgax invented. However, he betrayed Vilgax in an attempt to leave both Ben and Vilgax in the Null Void and use the Omnitrix to take over the world (which he said was even sweater now that finally had the Omnitrix), only for Ben to escape and leave him and Vilgax trapped inside the Null Void instead. Kevin spent the rest of the series in the Null Void, which is where the next part of his history begins.
Kevin’s History in the Null Void: In the Ben 10 Ultimate Alien episode, …Nor Iron Bars a Cage, while Kevin was stranded in the Null Void after his fight with Ben and after Ben escaped it’s was shown that during his time he was imprisoned in a pen in the Null Void he still had trouble controlling his anger but that all changed when he was helped out by an alien prisoner named Kwarrel. Kwarrel approached him and offered to help him control his anger, revert to normal (meaning revert back into a human again) and find a purpose. After Kwarrel’s teaching managed to help Kevin turn him back to his normal self, he then learned how to absorb matter in the process. Kwarrel then showed Kevin a tunnel he had been digging to help get himself out of the Null Void. However, an alien named Morgg, who would one day become the warden of the prison, ambushed the two. Kwarrel held off Morgg for Kevin to escape, which caused him to lose his life in the process. Because of his death Kevin did decided to go out to avenge his friend, even though it went against everything that Kwarrel had taught him. This is why Ultimate Kevin 11 purposely returned to the Null Void to kill Morgg and he would have succeeded to if it weren’t for Gwen. Believing that Kevin was now truly gone, Ben, much to Gwen’s horror, suggested that it was time for Ultimate Kevin 11 to be put down. After Kevin escaped out of the tunnel it turns out this was going to be hard to live in the Null Void because it wasn’t a pleasant place especially for a kid like him. But then he was rescued by the block ops plumbers who are known as the Rooters and the Rooters took him to their plumber headquarters and when they brought him into their head quarters Kevin say some faces that looked very familiar. The Rooters did experiments on Kevin by using his Osmosian powers to mix together human DNA with Alien DNA. This means that the plumbers kids Alan Albright, Helen Wheels, Manny Armstrong, and Pierce Wheels, where regular kids before they were tuned into alien hybrids. Also not only where the kids turned into hybrids (or Amalgam kids if you prefer to call them) but so were the Rooters as well. After the Rooters did they then made Kevin and the kids the perfect tools by making them do all sorts of very nasty things. After they did these nasty things, Kevin fled, but only with Servantis controlling his memories and convincing him that he had what we call “alien blood”. It turns out the nasty things that Kevin and the kids did were just training exercises to go up against a threat called the Coming Storm (which is Ben). Eventually after getting out of the Null Void, Kevin and the Amalgam Kids confronted Ben, Gwen, and Max and Kevin fired a lazar blast from a blaster at Ben. Ben managed to avoid the shot, transform into Eye Guy, and pinned down Kevin on the ground. However, Kevin only did this so that he could get close enough to Ben to absorb more powers of the Omnitrix, which caused Kevin to mutate again. Kevin, like Ben stated, starts to go pretty much insane again and attacks not just Ben, Gwen, and Max but also his allies the Amalgam Kids. Argit who used his quills to calm him down to listen to reason although Argit sort of overdid though eventually stopped Kevin. Kevin and the Amalgam Kids were sent back to the Null Void and an enraged Servantis called the whole project a failure, wiped out their memories (plus Argit’s to although he was an innocent bystander) and sent Kevin, the kids, and Argit loose in the Null Void. Servantis then abandoned the plan to destroy Ben after Ben stopped wearing the Omnitrix when he turned 15 years old and when Kevin escaped from the Null Void at some point during that time.
Kevin’s History out of the Null Void: Two years after breaking away from Servantis and getting out of the Null Void, Kevin began work on his car, but he was not satisfied with a simple standard model, so he began outfitting it with Alien Tech (just like the way Max outfitted his RV with alien tech), and to this end traveled to the planet Khoros (Four Arms’s home planet) in order to acquire a Khoros 5 engine block for it. Since the tech couldn’t be given to him because he outsider he wooed the then teenage tetramand Princess Looma Red Wind, successfully defeated her combat, getting the engine block for his car as a gift, and earning the right to marry her in three years thereby making him a part of the family. Kevin didn’t really like it but the problem was that it just happened anyway. When he first appeared in Ben 10 Alien Force, after Kevin was eventually released from the Null Void (he stated in the episode Darkstar Rising, that he has already did his time for his crimes and had now changed his ways) returned to normal, and has grown into a tall and muscular young man who has rejoined society and reconciled with his family. He had also become an alien weapons dealer, which gave him several contacts with criminals such as his friend Argit, Six Six’s partner Vulkanus, and the bounty hunter Sunder (who collects rare and unique objects) as well as his considerable knowledge in alien tech (which I consider this kind of knowledge to be very impressive for a guy like Kevin Levin). He has also learned about his ability to absorb solid matter instead of energy (taught how to do this by Kwarrel his friend). In episode Ben 10 Returns: Part 1, Kevin attempted to organize a deal between two organizations which are the Forever Knights and the DNAliens in order to sell them illegal Level 5 weapons which are very dangerous to humans. However, Ben, Magister Labrid, and Gwen interrupted the deal. Trying to get revenge for the past humiliating defeats, Kevin fought against Ben with his matter absorbtion powers, but is easily defeated by Ben while the other villains escaped without paying him the money he wanted. Labrid then forced Kevin to help them in finding back the weapon, offering him to avoid problems with the Plumbers then. Though Kevin mainly accepted in order to get his pay, Magister Labrid later sacrificed himself in order to save him from a defective weapon’s explosion. This, plus his interest for Gwen, the promise to Magister Labrid, and his desire to start a better life and become a Plumber like his father, led him to agree to teaming up with Ben and Gwen to go up against the High Breed invasion of Earth. Though Kevin has initially still felt a little rancorous toward Ben, Kevin did slowly reconciled with him, and proved to be a valuable ally as well as a good friend to Ben. Despite his reformation, Kevin still tends to engage in unethical activities: he is not really above stealing gold and jewelry from the Forever Knights and Plumbers equipment from Manny and Helen when presented with the opportunity. In the episode Darkstar Rising, Kevin reveals that his father was a Plumber and this is because that when he was little, his mother told Kevin a lot of stories about what his father did. This was a big in the original series of Ben 10 because Kevin did say that his parents both left him because of his Osmosian powers. This was all explained later on in the series as an exaggeration on Kevin’s part: Kevin’s mother remarried, and in retaliation Kevin destroyed their home by accidentally absorbing energy, which lead to his stepfather who caused a huge strain between both Kevin and his mother, ultimately this made Kevin think that his mom and stepfather hated him (which as you already know this was partly due of the side effect of absorbing energy) and ran away. At the end of the episode Darkstar Rising, Kevin, along with Gwen and Ben became official Plumbers, after which Kevin leaves to tell his mother about his membership. During the episode The Final Battle Part: 1, when Vilgax attempted to separate Ben from his friends, Kevin was kidnapped by Albedo in an attempt to split them up. During the episode The Final Battle Part: 2, Kevin was asked by Ben to back him up when taking on Vilgax, which he did when the Omnitrix got destroyed. After the Omnitrix was destroyed, he reverted back to normal from his second mutation and this revealed that it was really the Omnitrix that kept Kevin as the mutation of the things he absorbed that way.
History from Ultimate Alien: In the episode Fused, Kevin does admit that he is pretty selfish and a coward when he first met Ben, but also risked his own life to save Ben from being taken over by Ra’ad (one of the five alien fugitives that where captured by Aggregor). This comes to Kevin’s notice that there is another Osmosian named Aggregor and while this was never really explained, Kevin showed some sympathy to Aggregor because they are, somewhat of the same race and because Kevin, like Aggregor, was once an insane and violent sociopath. During the episode Ultimate Aggregor, Kevin shows his knack for detective work skills. Later he was warned by Paradox to remember who his friends are and that things will get worse before they can get any better. Kevin explained to Aggregor that the reason that he was a villain in the original series is that when Osmosians absorb energy, they become insane. Despite all of what Kevin said being true, Aggregor disagrees thinking that what Kevin told him is just a silly joke but it turns out it wasn’t. During the episode Map of Infinity, Kevin continued to focus on helping Ben and Gwen stopping Ultimate Aggregor, but is easily defeated by Ultimate Aggregor, he also seemed to know about the Map of Infinity, which everyone was saying that the map is just a legend. The group goes in search of the first part, Kevin wears a Plumbers’ Suit, but unlike any other Plumbers’ Suits, Kevin had a little white glove along with a circle over the glove (which gives Ben access to the Ultimatrix), and probably this glove is for Kevin to use his powers. Kevin proved to be very strong when a giant hammer comes down and crushes the group on a wall; he survived and managed to save the group by removing the hammer from the wall. In the episode Deep, Kevin was seen using a Plumbers’ Suit with some built-in electrical weapons but then helmet was destroyed, but Gwen uses her powers to make Kevin absorb the matter of the Rust Bucket 3, saving him from being crushed by the pressure. However, Kevin still can not breathe, until a Blowfish looking alien came to Kevin’s rescue buy acting as a helmet for him to breathe, in the core Kevin takes the Blowfish from his head (he did not need him since there was air that turns out to be breathable in the core). Kevin leaves the Blowfish in Piscciss after Ultimate Aggregor escaped with the second piece of the Map of Infinity, and is comforted by Gwen at the end, as he seemed to miss Blowfish. In the episode Perplexahedron, when Ben and Kevin where separated from Gwen in a giant cube maze, Ben told Kevin that Gwen can take care of herself and Kevin replies, “That’s why I like her.” Kevin then talks about his feelings to Ben and how he owes it to Ben and Gwen changing his life. After finding Gwen, Kevin tries to say that he likes her. Then Swampfire tells her what Kevin’s trying to say, and Gwen says, “I know that already.” and they kiss. In the episode The Forge of Creation, as a last resort in order to stop Ultimate Aggregor from succeeding, Kevin absorbs the powers and abilities from the Ultimatrix’s unlocked aliens, becoming Ultimate Kevin 11, powerful enough to defeat Ultimate Aggregor. Unfortunately, this also causes him to become insane once again. His old desire for power also returns as he absorbs Ultimate Aggregor’s powers as well. However, Kevin’s good heart appears to not be taken over completely, as he accepted 10-year-old Ben’s harsh criticism before sparing Aggregor’s life, though he declares that tomorrow he will not be so merciful anymore. During the episode The Enemy of My Enemy, Ben and Gwen found out that Ultimate Kevin 11 was after Argit because of all the times that he has double-crossed him. When he was first trying to attack Argit that sent him towards Gwen which is where he later attacked Rust Bucket 3 in order to get Argit, but was forced to retreat due to his car being thrown off the plane because he does still care a lot about his car. Ultimate Kevin 11 attack then attacks the Plumber’s Academy and easily takes care of the rookie Plumbers who tried to stop him but failed because with all the power that Kevin has no one can stop him. He then attacked and thought he killed Argit (due to Argit closing down his pulse), but during that attempt to kill Argit, Kevin nearly killed Gwen because he thought that she betrayed him, however, he was able to restrain himself and spare her life and telling her: “The only reason you’re alive is because of what you used to mean to me.” before spreading his Bigchill wings and departing from the Academy. This does makes it very clear that a part of the old Kevin inside Ultimate Kevin 11 still cares about her and Gwen remaining adamant that she and Ben can still bring Ultimate Kevin 11 back to sanity without destroying him. In the episode Absolute Power (Parts 1 and 2), in hopes of trying to save Kevin and get his sanity back, Gwen inquires the aid of Darkstar to help her with the plan of getting Kevin back, but Ben got very furious at the idea because he already knows that Darkstar can’t be trusted after all the bad things he did, but Gwen told Ben that this was their last hope of trying to bring Kevin back. Gwen then tries to talk to Ultimate Kevin, who tells her he’s been avoiding her because he can’t control himself, implying that he doesn’t want to hurt her; but he gains the desire to absorb Gwen’s powers. After Ultimate Echo Echo was able defeat Ultimate Kevin with his most powerful attack called sonic doom, Cooper managed to finish the machine that siphoned all of the energies that Kevin had absorbed and subsequently cure him with it in the process. Darkstar then betrays the team by using the piece of the Dominus Librium artifact to transfer all said energies into himself which makes into a gold god (which as you can tell was his real plan all along), but his plan then backfires when Ben; who anticipated such a move like that, activates a kill switch to return all of the energy back to where it rightfully belonged and Kevin then knocks Darkstar out with a sucker punch (because he was waiting a long time to do that). Kevin thanks Cooper, gives Gwen a passionate kiss on the lips by Gwen (much to the big disappointment of Cooper although I think he will get over it), and gets into an argument with Ben about their previous fight, to which he is relieved that everything turned out alright, after which Gwen asks for their help in explaining to her parents about the damage done to their home, to which Kevin and Ben ditch that by voting to go to Mr. Smoothies instead, with Kevin paying for the smoothies. In the episode Eye of the Beholder (the episode where Ben and Julie get back together and become a couple again), after Kevin was eating some strange alien food called a Fling Cake that is considered to be the most delicious desert in the galaxy when Ben was catch up with him and the girls on a strange rock planet called Monok, Kevin wasn’t really impressed with Ben blowing Julie off like a jerk and explained to him that if he never acted like a jerk in the first place, then she wouldn’t have dumped him at all. After Julie was able to return The Sentinel’s missing eye back, Kevin then rephrases Ben’s question with the word “in” instead of the word “on” and has Ben talk to Julie and the two became a cute couple again.
History in Omniverse: Sometime after all of the events that have happened in Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, Kevin and Gwen left Bellwood because Gwen was going off to college early (because she skipped a few grades in high school since she is very smart) and Kevin was going to college with her because he found a home and a job that was near the college campus so he could be close with her, but not without chasing and taking down Zombozo (who stole a brain from a brain bank) together as a team one last time. When he and Gwen returned to Bellwood for spring break visit in the episode Many Happy Returns, he tells Ben that he has a new con running and asks Ben to hide him. Ben asked him why but his question was already answered after an attack from Princess Looma Red Wind of the Tetramand Empire. Kevin reveals to Ben, Gwen, and Rook that he fought Looma, and defeated her when he was 14 after he was traveling with Argit to get a Koros 5 engine black for his car which is why he ended up having to marry her in 3 years when he made a deal with Looma’s father King Warlord Gar. This not only caused Gwen to become angry at keeping this secret (and also giving Looma a decent thrashing), but Kevin had been also keeping quiet about the next man who was defeated Looma would have to marry her; the end result was Ben who getting pretty much engaged to her since he defeated her as Four Arms (this is because female Tetramens are pledged to the male to who defeats them in battle). Satisfied that the one con from his past won’t be haunting him anymore, Kevin then leaves with Gwen in his car, much to Ben’s irritation and muttering the words “Kevin is so dead“. In the episode Showdown: Part 2, Kevin was later recruited, along with Gwen to help Max find Ben, who had mysteriously vanished after he had accidently destroying Pakmar’s business again. He ended up on Azmuth’s home planet, which as you know is called Galvan Prime MK II, where he prepared to help Ben fight Malware and stop him from becoming a living heavily armed planet. However, he had to end up having to fight off Khyber’s former dog but during the entire scuffle, Kevin showed that he managed to tame the alien dog and learned that its gender was female. Having taken a liking to Kevin over Khyber, the dog decided to stay with him instead. Kevin resumed his life as normal, but with a new pet (now named Zed) to add to the responsibilities that he has. When Kevin appeared ageing during the episode The Frogs of War Part: 2, along with Gwen, Rook, and Argit during the time the Incursions had already taken over the planet with planet along with an army of evil mutated Way Bads. In that episode Kevin was part of the resistance force that was still going against the invading Incursion army and hoping to find ways to take back Earth. They did also have help from Ben, who managed to return to Earth in his new Incursion form that he calls Bullfrag. The team manages to rescue Max along with Driba and Magister Patelliday and free Earth from the Incursions. Kevin made a cameo appearance in the episode Mud is Thicker than Water, in which Gwen tells him and Rook to enjoy the auto show, and they drive off. During the episode OTTO Motives, Kevin had the main appearance of himself as a 12 year old during the following of the episode. In the first flashback showing of this episode it shows that him and Argit were attempting to move and bring some objects together in the Null Void, although they were both complaining of the difficulty they were having moving the objects. Otto appeared before them and says to them that the objects that they got for him would be used to help them escape the Null Void. With the objects that they had collected the two manage to create a device, turn it on, and Otto, however, escapes from the Null Void without them, leaving them dismayed and betrayed at what he just did. The second appearance Kevin has made is the current times, in which he and Rook arrived at the planet Khoros (Four Arms’s home planet) to attend the alien auto show. As they walk around, they soon cross paths with Argit. While they think he is up to no good, the three of them team up at once when they saw Otto, saying that they waited 5 years to get their revenge. They head towards him, but Otto’s henchmen who are known as the Violet Offenders thwart them. Afterwards, after a long struggle, and giving a call to Ben, they managed to defeat Otto after a fight between Upgrade and Otto, who as it turns out became merged with the Prototruck a series of the cars he took from the auto show and become a giant robot. Kevin, Gwen, and Zed where seen in the Rust Bucket 3 to save Ben, Rook, Max and Azmuth in the episode For a Few Brains More, where he and Gwen managed to help out at defeating both Khyber and Albedo. Kevin makes another appearance in the episode Mystery, Incorporeal, in which he arrives with Zed to Friedkin University and eventually helping Ben fight a Stone Creature (that seemed very familiar), and then investigate who was behind the attacks of those creatures. Once the team finds that it was all of Darkstar’s doings, Ben, Rook, Kevin, and Zed fight many obstacles, including a fully powered Morningstar, which Ben manages to stop by using an old classic alien that he hadn’t used in years Ghostfreak. During the episode The Rooters of All Evil, when Kevin was seen at the garage where he was busy fixing a car that a customer paid for him to fix, he was eventually visited by Ben who says a group that call themselves the Rooters are after him. Kevin is uncertain on who they are and why they are after him but believes he should call Gwen. But before he can do that The Rooters eventually show up and Kevin suddenly bumps heads with Servantis (the leader of The Rooters) and starts to remember who he really was. Kevin then escapes in his new car with Ben and decides to tell Ben what happened between him and the Rooters. Kevin told Ben that 5 years ago while he was trapped in the Null Void he said that the Rooters eventually found him and used his Osmosian powers to fuse alien DNA with human DNA, transforming them into mutant alien hybrids. This was done with the Amalgam Kids and Kevin continued saying he escaped from the Rooters and the Null Void. When the flashback ends, Kevin then says that Servantis messed with his memories and that he is a “bad guy” who is part of the Rooters. The Rooters themselves suddenly come up out of nowhere and attack his car. Kevin absorbs metal to fight them while Ben transforms into AmpFibian. However, he and Ben where quickly defeated by the Rooters and where then taken back to Plumber HQ. While in Plumber HQ, Servantis reveals that Osmosians aren’t really aliens but are just humans with alien abilities. He also revealed that Osmosians appear to have different kinds of abilities and Kevin’s ability is matter absorbtion. Servantis is also revealed to be the one that named the Osmosians and Kevin says that Servantis needs him to make a hybrid army to be prepared for a threat called the Coming Storm. Plus the episode shockingly, revealed that Kevin’s dad, Devin Levin isn’t a real memory at all because as it turns out he is really just a false memory that Servantis implanted into Max’s brain so that he will keep watch over Kevin. The Rooters fight against Ben and the others but Kevin manages to escape them thanks to the distraction and everyone believing that he won’t be seen ever again (and I believe that Max was cross about that). However, at the end of the episode, Kevin meets up with Argit in Undertown and zaps Argit on the head with the red energy (that he absorbed from Servantis) and restoring his memories also. When Kevin showed up again in the episode Weapon XL: Part 1, it was shown that he went to the farm of plumber agent Alan Albright to get the young plumber to help him but Alan doesn’t really trust Kevin due to the fact that he almost destroyed him in the past. As Alan tries to tell Kevin to get off of his property, Swift suddenly appears and attacks Kevin, Alan, Zed, and Argit. Kevin then absorbs some wood to battle Swift but was nearly burned by Alan due to the latter that he still doesn’t trust him. However, Kevin was able to finally gained Alan’s trust again after he blocked a near fatal blast from Swift which eventually, forced her to retreat back to the Null Void after getting hit by Argit’s quills. After that Kevin then shocks Alan’s head causing him to regain old memories. In these old memories it’s then revealed that Alan knew Kevin since they were younger and together they both formed the original Rooters. Kevin, at some point, left a coded letter for Gwen that said that he was able got Alan and that she must go get Manny and Helen but not tell Ben about it. Later, Kevin was with Alan and Argit and Alan wanted to help Kevin out but Kevin shocks Alan again, which triggers another flashback, which shows Alan receiving his Pyronite powers. Kevin tells Alan and Argit that he will go into the Null Void alone to confront Servantis and asks Alan to take care of Zed. Kevin then heads inside and manages to eventually reach the Rooters’ base and Servantis allows Kevin to enter. Servantis was hoping to take out the “Coming Storm” but Kevin lashes out at him saying to that he should stop calling stop calling Ben that and Ben is his best friend. Suddenly, Ben, Gwen, and the Amalgam Kids arrive much to the anger of Kevin. Servantis then put his plan into action by shocking the Amalgam Kids with his Brainstorm powers and turning them against Ben. Servantis then creates a force field around himself and Kevin and seemingly convinces Kevin to turn on Ben. Kevin then thrashes Ben around (who had transformed into Kickin Hawk after he used Alien X) who the latter was forced to retreat with Rook and the others. At the end of the episode, Kevin rejoins the Rooters and decides to carry out his plan to hunt Ben down and destroy him. During the episode Weapon XI: Part 2, Kevin is seen with the Amalgam Kids in a plumber ship where he is searching around the Null Void for Ben. Kevin is determined to destroy Ben in the honor of Pierce’s good name. During a flashback that was told by Argit, it was revealed that Kevin and the Amalgam Kids attacked Ben’s group when they were younger. Kevin used a blaster at Ben but Ben managed to dodge and transform into Eye Guy and was able to pin Kevin down. However, Kevin touched the Omnitrix symbol and mutates again. Kevin starts to go insane attacking even his own allies. Argit’s quills brought down Kevin and he and the Amalgam Kids were taken back to the Null Void. Servantis was greatly upset when he found out that Kevin and the kids failed to destroy Ben. He then called that whole project a failure whipped out the memories of event and set Kevin and the Amalgam Kids loose in the Null Void plus Argit’s memories too even though he was an innocent bystander. Back in present time, Ben’s group eventually reached the Rooters’ base and Kevin prepares himself to fight Ben. Kevin was eventually confronted by Ben as Gutrot but quickly touched the Omnitrix, was mutated again, and became crazy again. Ben then transformed into Swampfire to take Kevin down but he easily contained him. Eventually, Helen caught Ben and Kevin then took him to Servantis. When Ben woke it, it turns out that Servantis created a device that will destroy Ben and the Omnitrix at the same time. However, before Kevin could toss Ben inside, Kevin dropped Ben and picked up Servantis instead. Kevin then head butted Servantis absorbs his energy from his head, and then uses it shock the rest of the Amalgam Kids which was able to turn them back to normal. The reason why Kevin did this to Servantis is because he wanted to stop Servantis from alternating the other’s memories and turns back to normal explained all of this to Ben. Kevin then tells Servantis that Ben is like a brother to him (even when he doesn’t disserve it) and that he will never turn on him again because he knew that if he would have gone thought with turning on Ben and destroying him, then the universe itself would already be gone few times over and then wouldn’t he look like a real jerk. Later after stopping the Rooters, they were soon stripped of their Plumber status by the Magistrata and Kevin then leave the Null Void with everyone else. During the episode Charm School, Kevin was seen at Friedkin University working on his car. Gwen attempted to get him to come with her to see why Charmcaster was attending the University but Kevin said Charmcaster was her problem not his, but after hearing Ben was coming as his car may get destroyed again if he had accidently crushed it or something during a fight Kevin decided to go with her anyway. Eventually, when Ben and Rook arrive, Kevin decides to use some of Rook’s expertise in alien tech to help build the ultimate car that can survive anything so that this time Ben wouldn’t be able to ruin it again. Kevin takes Rook into a room with numerous of advanced alien tech where revealed that he uses his powers to harvest the Taydenite from the car he bought at the Tetramand auto show in order to keep getting money (saying he doesn’t have to work ever again). Eventually, Kevin and Rook construct the perfect car capable of withstanding everything. However, when a magic spell from the fight between Gwen and Charmcaster hits the car and it then completely disappears much to Kevin’s horror and anger. However, Kevin gets over that and helps out Gwen and Ben fight off Charmcaster and her Stone Bat minions. Eventually, Charmcaster was defeated and Kevin decides to go back to the auto show with Rook to try and get a new car. In the episode Third Time’s a Charm, Kevin and Zed have taken residence in Lucky Girl’s headquarters, still feeling sad about his car. Gwen said she had been searching all over the universe for his car, but Kevin begs her to search for it again once more. They landed themselves inside his car in Ledgerdomain, but Kevin gets teleported out with his car leaving Gwen stranded. Kevin calls Ben and Rook for help as he assures that Charmcaster is the one behind the situation. The three boys meet Bezel, the most powerful sorceress of all. In the library, Charmcaster appears as she shows them that she has turned Gwen into a totem, much to Kevin’s shock. The boys got teleported out and Charmcaster makes a magic barrier, which prevents them from entering the library. With the help of Bezel, they were able to access the library to fight Charmcaster and her rock monsters. While Ben, Rook, and Kevin were busy battling Charmcaster and her rock creatures Zed takes the totems of Gwen, Darkstar, Hex, Adwaita, and Bezel as Charmcaster turns into a dragon using a spell. Ben and Rook then give Kevin some cover as he runs to his car and uses it’s weapons to attack, but the attacks from his car would not work since Kevin does not know magic. Ben manages to trick Charmcaster by having Skurd absorb Bezel’s totem making it look like it disappeared and telling Charmcaster to look inside her back to see if the totem is in there. Charmcaster looks into her bag and touches the drawing which Gwen made using her magic from her lipstick, turning her into a totem and trapping her inside of her own bag. Kevin is seen back in Lucky Girl’s headquarters, being relieved that Gwen is safe and that she and Charmcaster can be friends under different circumstances. At the end of the final episode which is called A New Dawn, after watching the universe created, Ben calls Gwen on his phone and tells her to get Kevin, and proposes that he, Gwen, Rook, and Kevin should all go on a road trip to explore the universe that Ben and Rook watched being created together.
Abilities in the field: Some of the abilities that Kevin uses in the field is that he learned is absorbing both energy and solid matter of anything that exclude certain materials as seen in the episode Greetings from Techadon, (he was taught how to absorb solid matter by his friend Kwarrel while in the Null Void) because as it turns out he is an Osmosian after all. Here below are some of the abilities that Kevin uses when facing against bad guys.
Energy Absorbtion Ability: The first ability that Kevin has is an ability called energy absorbtion. Although in the original series Kevin’s powers were first believed to be of an unexplained mutation but where later explained to be of a unique genetic component, which gives him super alien powers. After Kevin absorbs the energy he then channels that energy through his hands to manipulate technology, discharge it as an energy blast, or use it to help speed up cellular regeneration (almost like the way the Flash does from DC comics) to increase his strength or recover from injuries at a very accelerated rate. However, the energy will dissipate over time or through excessive use, so he is required to recharge. However, if Kevin absorbs too much energy, the energy will cause Kevin to become mentally unstable. Storing the energy that he has absorbed for long periods of time can really worsen his instability. This mainly occurs in Osmosians who absorb energy very often, but cannot control it due to the inexperience and lack of skill. Energy absorption can sometimes easily turn into an addiction. When Kevin is recently absorbing energy, he develops some black colored marks around his eyes which as it turns out is a side effect of absorbing a lot of energy.
Power Absorbtion Ability: The second ability that Kevin uses in the field is called Power Absorbtion. This ability is shown to be very similar to the ability of absorbing energy because by absorbing the DNA, the metabolism, and the life force of other life forms, Kevin can use it as nourishment to sustain his health and strength. But absorbing all of the energy from another life form will kill them. Kevin can use this kind of energy to acquire the creature’s powers will make him undergo a mutation in order to accommodate all of the absorbed abilities. But despite having gained complete access to any kind of these absorbed abilities at anytime, it turns out that they aren’t as strong as their pure forms, as noticed by Ben as Diamondhead who estimated that the powers that Kevin was using against him were only about as 1/10 of their full power, as seen when he was able to catch and crush one of Kevin 11’s crystals with his bare hands while the others shattered upon hitting him in the chest. This was also proven to be correct by Aggregor as well because this is the reason why Aggregor first turned P’andor, Andreas, Bivalvan, Ra’ad, and Galapagus into pure energy before he could absorb them so he could attain their full powers and abilities. He also stated that when Osmosians absorb the life force of other beings, the new powers can only be used temporarily unless they were to drain all of energy of that very life form. Also the power absorbtion ability can even be used to combine DNA of two beings, which is what Servantis used Kevin for when he brought him into his headquarters. As seen in the episode The Rooters of All Evil, it was shown that Kevin was able to absorb some of Servantis’ energy that was able bring out some past memories that he did not know he had when he bumped heads with him. Kevin was even able to carry the energy from Servantis around on his hand and was able used it on Argit and Alan Albright to bring up their memories of their past involvement with the Rooters as well. Kevin then used this energy to his advantage in the episode Weapon XL: Part 2, when he was able to permanently lock out Servantis from the Amalgam Kids’ minds so that he could not control them anymore and this gave the kids the chance to pick a side for themselves.
Matter Absorbtion Ability: Kevin’s third ability that he uses against when fighting evil villains is called Matter Absorbtion. This ability allows Kevin to absorb any kind of solid materials, coating himself in the substance, which as it turns out, allows him to take on its properties. After Kevin absorbs these solid materials they can proportionally increase his very own physical strength and durability to whatever he has just touched. In the episode Plumbers’ Helpers, Kevin has shown that he can be able to absorb multiple materials at once and during the same episode, he had also displayed the ability to apply to other people a coating of whatever material he has absorbed at the time, which is shown to be temporarily. But depending on the amount of the material that he has available, and how he distributes it, Kevin can either use it to coat his whole body, or coat part of it, in the material as a second skin-like armor. This was revealed in the episode All That Glitters, when Kevin did show that he can completely convert his body, or just part of it, into a living version of the material the he has just absorbed. The amount of solid materials that Kevin requires can depend on the density of the material. Another thing about this ability is that it has once been used productively when Vulkanus forced Kevin to absorb and synthesize a coating of Taydenite, thus incapacitating him; Paradox also mentioned to Ben, Gwen, and Kevin in the episode Vilgax Attacks, that the amount of Taydenite that Vulkanus and his pickaxe aliens chipped off of Kevin (during the episode Kevin’s Big Score) is now turned out to be the largest stash in the galaxy.
Matter Manipulation Ability: During season 3 of Ben 10 Alien Force when Kevin lost his ability to change back after he got blasted by the feedback from the Omnitrix (while tampering with it) and became a mix match of the matter he has absorbed (which also caused him to lose his ability to revert back to his human form) he gradually began to learn how to use the absorbed abilities in various matters. For example he was able to use high levels of strength and durability as well as using regenerative and shape-shifting abilities, seen when he shifts his limbs into a variety of different tools and weapons and also restoring his severed hand. These kinds of abilities appear to be almost similar to the super hero Metamorpho from the DC comics. Although despite returning back to his normal self after the Omnitrix self-destructed in the episode The Final Battle: Part 2, Kevin has shown in Ben 10 Ultimate Alien to have retain his heightened matter manipulation powers due to him now having knowledge of being able to doing so. Kevin’s other extraordinary ability that he uses in the field was revealed in the episode Too Hot to Handle. In that episode it’s revealed that Kevin is shown to be able to repair any objects in the current matter that he has absorbed from by releasing a liquid version of that very substance and then hardening it again and he can also manipulate whatever kind of matter that he is touching by absorbing it and then morphing it into any shape or form he wants like swords, hammers, etc. He uses both of these unique abilities when he fixed the broken seal of P’andor’s suit, morphed it around his body to trap him, plus fusing the arms together as makeshift handcuffs so that he wouldn’t escape. During the episode The Creature from Beyond, Kevin did show that he can use the liquid from of the metal he absorbed to create a helmet for Gwen to prevent the Lucubra (one of Diagon’s minions) from controlling her easily. Kevin can easily pick locks, by using his powers to absorb the material of the lock and shift his finger into a key that can easily unlock the door. Kevin can also absorb liquids, and when he does he gains the properties of that liquid (according to Dwayne, if Kevin would have absorbed mud, then objects will pass through him without causing any physical damage to his body). As seen in The Purge, if a part of his body was severed while he had absorbed some matter he could replace his hand. In The Ultimate Enemy: Part 1, it is shown that Kevin can easily create solid matter constructs from matter he has absorbed, like the helmets that he had made for Gwen and Ben for protection from mental attacks that Daigon would use to control them.
Other regular abilities he has: Even without his absorption powers Kevin appears to be stronger than an average human. The reason is because in the episode Trade-Off, Ben noticed that even though Kevin was powerless he was still a proficient fighter and valuable asset to the team. While it’s not to the same extant with as aliens like Tetramands for example, Kevin does show that he is capable of lifting/throwing the combined weight of several people with little strain and is pretty capable of resisting any impacts and blunt force trauma that would severely injure an ordinary person with moderate discomfort. During his years as a runaway, a prisoner in Incarcecon (the prison planet), an alien tech dealer, and a member of the Plumbers Kevin has shown some noticeable skill in martial arts and these combat skills, he has proven himself be a highly formidable fighter on several occasions, like for example having held his own against and defeated opponents like for instance, the Megacruiser robots, Technorg, and even Vilgax in a one-on-one fight. Though despite the fact that Kevin lacks a proper normal education, he does possesses a vast scientific and technological knowledge of alien paraphernalia. In the episode Deep, Ben and Kevin argued that they both cannot use their powers while wearing their Plumber suits which is why Kevin made some alterations to the suits, equipping them with propelling units and shock pulses that allow them to attack with electric shocks. Kevin also appears to have great analytical and deductive skills, like for example being able to determine and find out specifically what happened between Aggregor and the Plumbers several hours after the battle, which greatly impressing his friends and even gaining a compliment from Max that he could be either an expert police officer or a wanted criminal. When it comes to cars and other vehicles Kevin shows to have good motor skills, like being able to race and chase in his car and the Rust Bucket 3. He also appears to be great at mechanics and engineering like repairing his car when it’s taken numerous amounts damage during the course of the series. Plus he modified his car, by setting it up alien tech for beneficial gears and to top of that he built the DX Mark 10, which is a car that he reluctantly gave to Ben for a sixteenth birthday present. When it comes to animals Kevin’s shown to be very good with them, even without trying because in the episode Deep, a Blowfish alien became strongly attached to Kevin and later after that, Khyber’s dog (who is known as Zed), despite being well-trained and loyal to Khyber, ultimately chose to join Kevin, even after saving Kevin from being crushed by one of Malware’s fallen pieces.
Weaknesses: Some of Kevin’s weaknesses are from the powers of Ben’s aliens when absorbing a lot of energy from the Omnitrix. Kevin’s other weakness were revealed in the episode Deep, where he found Aggregor in the core of the planet Piscciss but was easily defeated by Ultimate Aggregor’s electric attack. The reason why was because Kevin was vulnerable because of the matter he absorbed was very conductive; Ultimate Aggregor advised that next time they meet, Kevin should try absorbing something that should be non-conductive, and then escapes.
